Official Statement of Patagonia Run Columbia Montrail

Dear Patagonia Run Columbia Montrail family,

We have finally reached the deadline we imposed ourselves to make a final decision whether to hold or not Patagonia Run Columbia Montrail this year, moved by the hope that things would change and we would be able to carry out this very much expected event.

The epidemiologic situation is still complicated in our country. Our Argentinian and international runners cannot travel freely, San Martín de los Andes is still not open to tourism and its accommodation and restaurant facilities are not enough to welcome all our community of runners and families. All this makes it impossible to hold Patagonia Run 2020 on the planned dates.

Since finding a new date to reschedule during 2020 is not possible, we have decided to hold the race on April 9th and 10th 2021.

All runners registered for 2020 edition may transfer their registration, for the same distance, to editions 2021 or 2022, free of charge. Each runner will receive clear instructions for this via email soon. Full 100% registration will also apply to those runners who had already chosen to transfer their registration to 2021/22/23 editions at 70% coverage. Therefore, the certificate issued is annulled. If a runner opts for reimbursement of the registration fee, 70% of the amount paid will be refunded.

This decision to cancel Patagonia Run 2020 makes us very sad, but we understand it is the only one possible today.

We are very grateful for the support we have felt from most of you during these very difficult months, probably the hardest ever for many of us.

We will keep working towards an outstanding 2021 Patagonia Run Columbia Montrail, to make you feel that this two-year-wait has not been in vain.

We send all of you a warm hug from Patagonia. Let´s all keep taking care and training, hoping 2021 is a better year for everyone.

Official Statement of Patagonia Run Columbia Montrail

San Martín de los Andes, August 25th 2020

Dear Patagonia Run family;

We are getting in touch with you to let you know that, in view of the growing concern expressed by many of you via email, phone calls and social media, we feel the need to communicate that Patagonia Run Columbia Montrail 2020 is still scheduled for November 27th and 28th as planned.
However, as days go by and we see no substantial improvements in the situation caused by Covid-19 pandemic, we understand and share your concern. We have therefore decided to set MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21st as deadline to decide and communicate to you whether 2020 edition of Patagonia Run Columbia Montrail will take place or not. We will also inform of the steps to be followed in either case.
We thank you for your understanding, we know most of you would like to run the race in November, but we also understand those who would rather it did not take place. We have received and thoroughly analyzed and discussed each and every one of your messages. There is no economic speculation on our side. Quite on the contrary, we are only moved by the wish to offer our community happiness in this year that has filled us with worries and troubles.
Our commitment to our runners remains, and we will do everything within our possibilities to be able to do it.
A warm hug,

Gabriela Azcárate, Mariano Alvarez and Sergio Ochoa
